Prosecutor general Joergen Steen Soerensen said on Thursday he won't appeal a decision by Danish courts to block the extradition of 49-year-old Niels Holck.

Holck has admitted he took part in dropping weapons from a cargo plane over eastern India in 1995. Indian police said that the cache was meant for an Indian revolutionary group.

In June, the eastern high court rejected the extradition request, saying Holck would be at risk of torture in India.

Soerensen said that he found no reason to appeal the decision to the Supreme Court.
