The Maoist had created a major political crisis since parties failed to reach a consensus. Speaker Subhas Nembang had even begun preparations for a voting on the issues. Nembang held meetings with senior political leaders, including Maoist chief Prachanda on the procedure of the meeting. After weeks of parleys, the Maoists finally decided to withdraw the demands.
