Top leaders of Communist Party of Nepal (UML) and Maoists met in the morning at Hotel Vaishali in downtown Thamel in Kathmandu. Both the parties have reportedly agreed on names for the posts of president, vice-president and prime minister.
Senior CPN (UML) leader Bharat Mohan Adhikary claimed that name of former Speaker of the interim parliament Subas Nembang and a senior leader of the party were floated for the post of ceremonial president. "The party, however, is yet to finalise the name for the post of the ceremonial president," Adhikary said.
Both the CPN (UML) and Maoists were unanimous on choosing Maoist chairman Prachanda for the post of prime minister. The parties decided to offer the post of chairman of the Constituent Assembly (CA) to the Nepali Congress. The Nepali Congress was not happy with the Maoist and CPN (UML)'s decision on the post of president.
