Myanmar President Thein Sein hailed a "new chapter in relations" with the United States, in landmark talks on Thursday with visiting secretary of state Hillary Clinton.

Myanmar President Thein Sein hailed a "new chapter in relations" with the United States, in landmark talks on Thursday with visiting secretary of state Hillary Clinton.

"This visit is the first in five decades. Your visit is historic and will be a new chapter in relations. I appreciate the atmosphere you have created for friendly relations," Thein Sein told Clinton, speaking through an interpreter.
