Nepal is set to elect its 35th prime minister through a majority vote in parliament on Sunday.

Filing of nominations for the post would be held on Friday and voting take place at 1 pm on Sunday, the business advisory committee of parliament decided on Thursday.
If there is no clear winner after the first round, the parliament would decide on another date for the next round of voting.
Nepal is witnessing another political crisis after Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal resigned on August 15 to make way for a consensus government that would speed up the peace and constitution drafting process.
In a related development, the central working committee of Nepali Congress nominated Ram Chandra Poudel as the party candidate for the majority government.
