The only way out for the cornered Tamil Tiger chief V Prabhakaran is by the sea or the cyanide pill, a confident Lankan army commander Lieutenant General Sarath Fonseka said.

Prabhakaran, Fonseka said, would be hiding in an underground bunker under the jungles of Mullaitivu to avoid aerial bombing by the Sri Lankan air force.

The north eastern district of Mullaitivu is the last stronghold of the LTTE cadres who withdrew inside its jungles after being ousted from Kilinochchi.

Fonseka said the LTTE chief had little option but to escape by the sea route, Fonseka told reporters over dinner on Saturday.
