A senior Pakistani diplomat on Tuesday accused the US of lacking clarity in its policy on the Haqqani network and expecting too much from Islamabad.

Why accuse the ISI of links with the Haqqani network, asked Zamir Akram, Pakistan's permanent representative to the UN in Geneva, when the US sought its help in setting up a meeting with them.
"You knew that (about ISI's links) because you asked us to help meet with the Haqqanis," Akram said speaking on US-Pakistan relations at the Stimson Center, a think tank.
