Three militants were killed during an exchange of fire with security forces at Dangram in the Swat valley, the
military said in a statement.

In another incident in Mingora, the main city in Swat, local residents surrounded a house after they spotted four
militants entering it.

After laying siege to the house, the people alerted the security forces. The troops then killed two militants and
captured another. Thirteen militants were captured by troops during search operations at Shakardarra, Charbagh and Kaadang
Sar.

Acting on a tip-off, troops also discovered a 35-foot-long tunnel being used by militants near Bar Shaur in
Swat.

The army says it has killed over 1,800 militants during operations in Malakand division since May. Some 300
soldiers have also died in the fighting.
