Former Iraqi Vice President Taha Yassin Ramadan was executed early on Tuesday.

Ramadan, who served in Saddam's regime, was sentenced to death on February 12 for his role in the 1982 killing of 148 Shias in Dujail, after a failed attempt on the life of Saddam.
