Spanish police arrested at least seven people suspected of recruiting fighters for the Iraqi insurgency, news reports said.

Spanish police on Tuesday arrested at least seven people suspected of recruiting fighters for the Iraqi insurgency, Spanish news reports said.
Police made the arrests before dawn in Madrid, the Barcelona area and the Basque town of Tolosa, the national news agency Efe said.
The Interior Ministry and National Police said they had no immediate information on the report.
Efe said the number of arrests was expected to rise.
Last month, Spanish authorities arrested 16 people suspected of recruiting people to stage attacks in Iraq and other hot spots, and two other suspects surrendered.
A judge jailed six of them and freed the other 12, although they were ordered to check in with the court weekly and surrender their passports.
