Tamil Tigers say war at 'bitter end'; silence guns

The Tamil Tigers on Sunday conceded their war with the Sri Lankan government had reached its "bitter end" and said they had decided to "silence their guns", the pro-rebel website www.TamilNet.com reported.

"This battle has reached its bitter end," the Tigers' head of international relations, Selvarajah Pathmanathan, said in a statement released on TamilNet. "We remain with one last choice -- to remove the last weak excuse of the enemy for killing our people. We have decided to silence our guns."
