Encouraged by progress in the peace process in the last two days, Nepal PM Baburam Bhattarai assured Thursday to complete drafting a new constitution within the May 28 deadline.

Delivering a televised address to the nation on the eve of Nepali New Year 2069, Bhattarai assured countrymen that the delayed process would see completion soon.
"I would like to assure all that an atmosphere has been created to draft the constitution within deadline. There's no other option," he said in his address.
He sought support from all parties to draft a constitution with democratic values and urged everyone to foil attempts at derailing the process.
"The two armies (Nepal Army and Peoples' Liberation Army) have merged into one. Only some technical details remain and they will be addressed soon," he stated.
Nepal's peace and constitution drafting processes have witnessed many delays due to political instability and differences among parties over several core issues.
