Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period drama Padmavati, which stars Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor, has been in the news since it was announced.

Apparently, the makers of the film are going all out to fiercely guard the on-screen looks of their lead actors. “There has been speculation surrounding the look of each actor even before the film went on floors. Bhansali will be presenting them like never before, which is why the security will be quite tight on the sets,” says a source.

Several other measures are also being taken to keep the looks of actors under wraps. The source reveals, “Apart from raising the number of security personnel on the sets, Ranveer, Deepika and Shahid will be escorted from the sets to their vanity vans by guards in a makeshift tent.”

The source adds that Deepika visited the sets on the day the filming began (November 1) despite not being part of the first scene. “The actor went to the sets especially to wish luck to the entire team. Apparently, she had done the same for all her previous films helmed by Bhansali, including Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela (2013) and Bajirao Mastani (2015), irrespective of whether she was part of the first take or not,” says the source.

Bhansali could not be reached for comment.
