New Delhi: Customs officials at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) nabbed two passengers and recovered 14 pieces of gold bars from them. Officials said the passengers had inserted the bars inside their rectum.

“On Tuesday evening, we intercepted two passengers, who were in the transit area of Terminal 3, to proceed for their onward journey to Mumbai. They were searched but nothing was found. During interrogation, the confessed of carrying gold in the rectum,” said a customs official.
Total 14 gold bars weighing 2.69 kg and worth Rs76 lakh were recovered.
