After poor show in Class 12, more embarrassment came for Panchkula district in Class 10 results which were declared by the Board of School Education, Haryana, on Sunday. Over 61% students who took the exam from the district have failed.
As many as 4,712 students had appeared this year from the district, lowest from any district in the state, of which only 1,853 passed. The pass percentage is 39% and 1,386 students will re-appear in some subjects.

In 2014, the pass percentage of the district was comparatively better at 45%, while in 2013 it was dismally low at 36 %.
In 2016, the overall pass percentage of the state is 49% which is higher than Panchkula’s. In 2015 the state’s pass percentage was 46%.
The districts which have performed worse than Panchkula are Faridabad with a pass percentage of 34, Karnal with 38% and Yamunanagar with 37%. Sonepat has best pass percentage at 70%.
In Class 12 results of the state board declared on May 18, Panchkula had performed poorly as only 59% students could clear the exam to stand 6th from the bottom. There are 61 government and around 15 private schools in district
