At 24, Patna’s Sharad Vivek Sagar has joined the likes of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai by featuring in Forbes’ fifth annual ‘30 Under 30’ list of social entrepreneurs.

In an email to Hindustan Times, Sagar, the founder and CEO of Boston-based Dexterity Global and former student of St Dominic Savio’s High School in Patna, said he was “thrilled and honoured” to be on the list.

The business magazine’s global list of young change makers features 30 names each in 20 categories. It also features other Indians in various categories.

“Dexterity Global is a system of educational platforms that serves undergraduate and high school students in Southeast Asia. The goal is to make sure the next generation can connect with the world,” the description accompanying Sagar’s name on Forbes’ website said.

On its website, Sagar’s Dexterity Global says it aims to power “the next generation of leaders through educational opportunities” and “connect the remotest child with the best opportunities”.

While this is quite an achievement for Sagar, he is no stranger to awards and honours.

In 2011, he represented India at the South Asian Youth Environment Meet (SAYEM). At the time, he was also serving as the regional ambassador of the Asia-Pacific region for UNEP TUNZA Eco-generation. Sagar has also founded We Aim High, a students’ organisation.

He recently featured in the Rockefeller Foundation’s 100 Next Century Innovators’ list.
