Separate story

She doesn’t think twice before putting a fresh twist to her wardrobe, and we are loving this latest fashionable outing by actor Kangana Ranaut. Go for reflective exaggerated polkas, and what’s a better way to do it than with co-ordinates that are a superb when you want to swing it the bling way.

Ace ethnic

There’s always a way to stand out among a pool of staid kurtas and salwars. This statement ensemble sported by actor Tisca Chopra by designer Payal Khandwala gave us fun inspiration. For your next wedding do, ditch crystal-studded lehengas and go for luscious fabrics and plum colours.

Just jacquard

At a recent film premier, singer Shakira pulled off a cute dress with the understated shine of a jacquard weave, by label Mac Duggal. Here’s a great way to pull off some shine, if you are afraid of adding outright bling to your wardrobe. For your next pastel dress, pick a brocade-fused jacquard dress.

Satin smooth

Actor Kristen Bell also did buttery satin at a recent event. This look is a great example for all those who find it tricky to pull off shine. No-fuss straight hair, a bold lip that picks from the same hue palette and colour blocked pumps is how Bell does it. Not crowding your look is the way to go!

Some neon niche

A lot of designers are synonymous with making neons wardrobe staples, including Christopher Kane and many others. While you’d remember a statement neon shirt or dress making the rounds of flea markets, the trend has now evolved to take on a smarter style connotation. Exhibit A — Taylor Swift’s neon colour blocking at the Grammys and Jason Wu’s neon fur elements at the recent fashion week in New York. So if you are ready to take on colour and neon quirk, do it by adding a colourful, sheen-perfect surprise. An accessory can also work as a shine-companion, so go on and experiment.
