Google’s new doodle honours Beethoven on the 245th anniversary of the maestro’s baptism with an interactive doodle.
The puzzle is aimed at testing our knowledge of the maestro’s compositions as we help him reach a concert in time.
In a post about the Doodle, Google said, “Today provided us a rare opportunity to construct a game in step with beautiful music, whose evocative moods, drama, lightness and depth made conjuring visuals to match it rollickingly fun.”
The interactive doodle incorporated some of Beethoven’s signature melodies including Fifth Symphony and Ode To Joy. Beethoven’s hearing was almost gone by the time he was in his 30s and in 1811 he had given up on conducting in public but continued to compose. Many say that this was his most creative period.
Keeping with this spirit, here are the maestro’s 5 most recognisable compositions.
Symphony No. 5
Symphony No. 9
Symphony No. 9 in D minor: Ode To Joy
