He has led protests on the issue of law and order and farmers’ issues in his segment. He got sanctioned Rs 5 crore from the central government for a railway footover bridge and for constructing a new platform. He also claims credit for getting the Sarai Rohilla Express train to key Sikh religious place Hazur Sahib in Nanded (Maharashtra) to halt at Gidderbaha.
Voter speak
He has good connect with people but couldn’t do much being an opposition MLA. But he can do much better if he wins this time, and the Congress forms the government.
Gursahib Singh, 23, student
Whatever has been done in the segment is a result of Warring’s own efforts such as train halts. He is very energetic and people like such young leaders in politics.

Power punch In fifth term as CM, among seniormost politicians in India
What next He is all set to contest again and remains the CM face of SAD
How he performed
Opposition parties target the CM for preferring his assembly segment for development works. The segment has got a multi-purpose sports stadium, an industrial training institute and one new block with emergency services and operation theatre at the civil hospital — all in Badal village. A new building of Killianwali senior secondary school, two solar power plants, too, have come up in the last five years here. The assembly segment also witnessed major spending on civic work in villages. Rs 108 crore was spent on cementing village streets, and also spent on water supply schemes and roads. Despite being the CM, he manages time for his assembly segment and interacts with the public in sangat darshan programmes regularly.
Voter speak
The CM has done a lot for the segment in the form of schools, hospital, and civiv development in villages. He is easily accessible to people of Lambi
Pala Singh, 80, farmer
Despite CM being our MLA, we have to wait for selling paddy for over a week in the grain market. Funds that are allocated are either not being used properly, or not reaching beneficiaries.
Tehal Singh, 52, farmer.
