Want to show your theatrical talent? Just one call and you can be part of the second premiere of the play, 1-888-Dial-India, and get to share stage space with Kunal Roy Kapur, Sophie Chaudhary, and Ashwin Mushran among others.

Produced by Raell Padamsee Productions, the plot revolves around urban Indian BPOs. Prior to the show and in the interval, two callers will be chosen from the audience.sophie chaudhry

They will have to sell an absurd product and share their worst telemarketing experience in less than 30 words to win a prize. One caller will even have to convince the other to go on a date with him in less than two minutes!

Anuvab Pal, who wrote and directed the play, which was also staged in Mumbai last year, says, “I wanted see what happens when you outsource something that you think requires human connection, life and death.

It is really about the idea of building a crazy dream in the New India.” Pal, who is currently working on a film about French expats in Kolkata, adds that he loves creating “a quirky world”.

Raell Padamsee says, “It’s a mad, funny play. We wanted to do it with a small cast, but we realised that we needed five more people to help out our six characters change into their 16 different roles in the play.
