Bhopal: Action against those who asked girls to vacate BU, says V-C
Barkatullah University vice-chancellor MD Tiwari said that strict action would be taken against those who asked the girl inmates to vacate hostels during Diwali vacations.
Barkatullah University vice-chancellor MD Tiwari said on Monday that action would be taken against those who asked the girl inmates to vacate hostels during vacations on Diwali.
"I always work in favour of students to provide them maximum facilities in the form of scholarships and other ways. The BU administration had decided to shift the girls in Nivedita hostel for their security, but I didn't issue any kind of instructions to anyone to vacate the girls hostels," Tiwari told HT.

He said he was not even aware of any such happening that the girls were aksed to vacate the hostels. This was a serious matter and he wouldn't allow any kind of trouble and problem to any student of the university. "I will look into the matter and if I find that somebody did ask the girls to vacate the hostels I will take strict action against him," the V-C said.
On Friday, Barkatullah University's girl students from Kashmir and other states had alleged that the matron and university administration had asked them to vacate hostels on the occasion of Diwali festival, though were they were not told about this at the time of admission. This compelled some students to live in hotels and their friends' homes.
