Bhopal rejoices victory of good over evil
Dussehra was celebrated at various places in Bhopal with traditional fervour and gaiety. Celebrations culminated in burning of effigies of Ravana at Bittan Market, Chola area, TT Nagar, Shahpura and many other places.

Dussehra celebrations culminated in burning of effigies of Ravana at Bittan Market, Chola area, TT Nagar, Kolar, Shahpura and many other places. The venues celebrations witnessed huge gathering of people including women and children.
The Ravana effigy at Bittan Market was reported to be the tallest in Bhopal. Fire crackers were also burst while burning the effigies. People were also seen greeting one another on Vijaydashmi.
The city markets also witnessed good turnout, particularly in the evening. Security arrangements were enhanced and fire brigades were put on alert in the city. No untoward incident was reported from any part of the city.
Many families also performed 'shastra puja'.
While governor Ram Naresh Yadav visited TT Nagar Dussehra Ground to greet the people, chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan choose to reach Budhni, his assembly constituency, on the occasion.
Speaking at Budhni, Chouhan exhorted people to kill Ravana within them. He asked people to kill anger, greed, sin and other vices to find Lord Ram within them.
Police perform shastra pooja
Inspector general of police (IG) Bhopal Yogesh Choudhary along with other police officers performed ‘shastra pooja’ at district reserve police (DRP) lines in Nehru Nagar on Friday.
