“I don’t want to enter politics... I believe actors should not look to enter politics. Actors, by nature, are meant to break rules, experiment and sometimes do things that are not easily accepted by the society. A politician, on the other hand, has to stand by rules and morals,” says the 35-year-old.
Asked why filmstars are roped in for election campaigning, she says, “I think people look to filmstars for inspiration and copy them — their lifestyle and even the way they think. During elections, people associate the coolness quotient with stars.”
The actor says that she likes the ideology of the recently-formed Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). “We have a lot of good choices (leaders to vote for) this time. I really like AAP’s ideology. The fact that Arvind Kejriwal (founder, AAP) became the chief minister of Delhi was a success in itself.”
