Akshaye Khanna and Richa Chadha team up for film on rape laws, Section 375

Inspired by 10 different real life cases, Section 375 will see Akshaye Khanna and Richa Chadha playing lawyers. The film is about how a law made to protect women can also be misused

Bollywood actors Akshaye Khann and Richa Chadha have joined hands for a new film titled Section 375. The film will be directed by Manish Gupta, who has earlier helmed Kay Kay Menon-starrer Rahasya (2015).

Richa Chadha and Akshaye Khanna will work together for the first time in Section 375.

The film is said to be inspired by 10 different real life cases and will have both Akshaye and Richa playing lawyers. Touted to be a film about how a law made to protect women can also be misused, the movie is likely to go on floors by March or April. Section 375 in the Indian Penal Code seeks to define rape for legal purposes.

Announcing the new project producer Abhishek Pathak tweeted late Friday, “Our next with #AkshayeKhanna & @richachadha_ #Section375 panorama_studios kumarmangatpathak https://www.instagram.com/p/BfSTedBFOrI/ .”

While Akshaye was last seen in Sidharth Malhotra-Sonakshi Sinha-starrer Ittefaq, Richa is riding high on the success of Fukrey Returns that hit theatres in December last year. Richa will soon be seen in Sudhir Mishra’s Daasdev that will release on March 23.
