Music Director Amit Trivedi who got caught in the controversy surrounding Lootera’s music has clarified, that he didn’t know about the song that is allegedly the original melody to his film’s theme — Rachel Portman’s theme from the film One Day.

“It’s a sheer coincidence that I couldn’t believe. When Lootera’s trailer released, I , Vikarm and Anurag Kahyap came to know from YouTube comments that the music was similar to some theme from a film called One Day, and its music was composed by Rachel Portman,” he says. “Without wasting time, I got in touch with Rachel and explained that how my music was similar to hers, and made her believe that it was just a coincidence. So, when she reciprocated, the matter was finally sorted,” she adds.

With hit songs like Emotional Atyachaar, Manjha, Sawaar Loon and an upcoming MTV Coke Studio performance, Amit is also known for winning a National Award for Dev D (2010). “My journey has been a rollercoaster ride. Lootera is my favourite. It was great to be associated with Vikram once again. I love his work. Working with him gets the best music out of me.”
