Back to hometown: Vidya's parents join her shoot in Kerala

In a rare instance, Vidya Balan’s parents accompanied her for a shooting schedule in Kerala.

Vidya Balan has completed a decade in Bollywood. Naturally, she has travelled to different cities and countries to shoot for her films and other projects.

But this time around, her parents, PR Balan and Saraswathy Balan, accompanied her for a jewellery brand shoot. The trip was planned as the actor was shooting in Palakkad, Kerala, where her father has spent most of his life.

“Vidya was born in Palakkad, and when the brand approached her to shoot a commercial there, she excitedly informed her parents. Her father then discussed the possibility of travelling with her, and planned a three-day trip. They also visited the location where Vidya shot for the ad,” informs a source close to the actor.

Vidya was in the city from August 11 to 13. “Apart from visiting the shooting location, they also met friends, who are based in Palakkad. It was after a long time that the family was visiting the city,” adds the source. While the actor remained unavailable for a comment, her spokesperson confirmed the news.
