Badla box office day 5: Amitabh Bachchan’s film earns Rs 30.80 cr, Total Dhamaal inches closer to Rs 150 cr-mark
On Tuesday, while Amitabh Bachchan-Taapsee Pannu-starrer Badla earned Rs 3.85 crore, Ajay Devgn’s Total Dhamaal collected Rs 1.15 crore.
Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu-starrer Badla saw a slight rise in the earnings from Monday and collected Rs 3.85 crore on Tuesday, making a total of Rs 30.80 crore in five days of its release on March 8.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the figures: “#Badla is displaying strong legs at the BO... Day 5 [Tue] is higher than Day 4 [Mon]... Eyes ₹ 35 cr+ Week 1, which is excellent... Fri 5.04 cr, Sat 8.55 cr, Sun 9.61 cr, Mon 3.75 cr, Tue 3.85 cr. Total: ₹ 30.80 cr. India biz. Gross BOC: ₹ 36.34 cr.”
He wrote on Monday, “#Badla is a success story... Glowing word of mouth converts into footfalls, consolidates its BO status... Metros/multiplexes splendid... Tier-2 cities join the party on Day 2 and 3... Fri 5.04 cr, Sat 8.55 cr, Sun 9.61 cr. Total: ₹ 23.20 cr. India biz. Gross BOC: ₹ 27.38 cr.”
In an earlier tweet, Taran had revealed the opening weekend numbers of Pink and 102 Not Out.
Badla, Amitabh and Taapsee’s second film together, opened to rave reviews and the audience have loved it as well. “Sujoy Ghosh’s Badla features a slick, relentlessly twisty cat-and-mouse game played with both cat and mouse sitting in the same room, strategising across a table. A slavish remake of the 2017 Spanish thriller Contratiempo (The Invisible Guest), Ghosh’s efficiently assembled film keeps tension at a boil through twist and counter-twist, but the finalé is easy to see coming, principally because we expect certain actors to have the last laugh. Still, there is something to be said for this briskly paced thriller that doesn’t slow down to spoon-feed its audience. Badla never loses grip,” Raja Sen wrote in his review of Badla.
Meanwhile, Total Dhamaal continued to bring in the moolah; the Indra Kumar directorial collected Rs 1.15 crore on its third Tuesday, taking its total to Rs 143.56 crore. Taran wrote, “#TotalDhamaal is rock-steady... [Week 3] Fri 1.70 cr, Sat 2.76 cr, Sun 3.95 cr, Mon 1.40 cr, Tue 1.15 cr. Total: ₹ 143.56 cr. India biz.” The film stars Ajay Devgn, Madhuri Dixit, Anil Kapoor and Arshad Warsi, among others and is the third film in the Dhamaal franchise.
