“I believe that adding an element of a defined time frame in a movie’s plot makes it a lot more interesting. Audiences can then expect a lot to happen within the said time,” he says. “Even for this movie, our hook point is that when Dimpleji’s character, Sudha Mishra, leaves her house for the first time for 30 whole days, the audiences are then on a roller coaster ride as to what happens to her house as it is passed on from one whacked out and bizarre character to the other,” he adds.

“For being a comedy, it helped us to play around a lot with the development of unique comical characters, thus helping the audiences to be engaged in the due course of the film,” he says.

Filmmakers, in the recent past, have attempted films whose plot revolves around a specific time frame. For instance, both Aamir (2008) and Ragini MMS (2011) were about the story of one night, the story of War Chhod Na Yaar (2013) had the time frame of 24 hours. While some have worked, some have not fared too well at the box office.
