First Genius trailer reintroduces Jeetey from Gadar as a Bollywood leading man

The first trailer for Genius, starring Utkarsh Sharma and Ishitha Chauhan, and directed by Utkarsh’s father and Gadar director Anil Sharma, was released online on Wednesday. Utakrsh previously played Jeetey as a child actor in Gadar. He plays the role of a RAW agent masquerading as a college student and in the trailer, he is seen falling in love with Ishitha’s character, which complicates matters.

According to the film’s official synopsis, Utkarsh’s character happens to be an orphan, who just wants to find his one true love in life. How he navigates the hurdles is what the film is about. The trailer itself doesn’t delve too much into the specifics, but concentrates on reminding the audiences that their favourite child actor is back.

Dharmendra, who worked with the director and Utkarsh in Gadar took to Twitter to wish the team the best of luck. He wrote, “One of those overwhelming days when you feel pride and love in abundance. All the very best @iutkarsharma @Anilsharma_dir @genius_themovie wishing you all the success ahead.”

Genius has music composed by Himesh Reshammiya and is produced by Deepak Mukut. The movie is slated to release on August 24.
