Akshay Kumar on Thursday released a new song from his upcoming film Gold, titled Bolte Parini. The actor took to Twitter to share the music video, picturised on himself and his co-star Mouni Roy. The almost three-minute clip focuses on their relationship as a married couple - all the ups and downs, and how Mouni’s character deals with his quirks (and alcoholism).

The video shows the couple going about their daily lives, away from Tapan Das’ day job - manager of the Indian hockey team. His dream is to help his country win its first Olympic gold medal as an independent nation.

Several songs from the film have already been released. Monobina focusses on his unpredictability as an alcoholic, Ghar Layenge is a euphoric sports number and Naino Se Baandhi is a more mellow song about his romantic relationship to his wife.

Gold, directed by Reema Kagti, is a fictional account of India’s first Olympic gold in hockey. It was earlier reported that Gold is a biopic of former hockey player Balbir Singh Sr. In an interview, producer Ritesh Sidhwani denied the claim. He said, “It is not a biopic. It is a completely fictional story but it is set against a real backdrop between 1933-48 India about what the country was, the sports... about hockey. It is not based on any character.”

The film also marks Mouni’s Bollywood debut. She gained fame on Indian television, playing the role of ‘naagin’ in Ekta Kapoor’s supernatural TV series Naagin and as Sati in Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev. Her upcoming Bollywood projects include Ayan Mukherji’s Brahmastra, RAW - Romeo Akbar Walter with John Abraham and Made in China alongside Rajkummar Rao.

Gold will clash at the Independence Day box office with John Abraham’s Satyameva Jayate.
