When it was announced that Hrithik Roshan will play mathematician Anand Kumar, many were wondering how the actor will manage to match the appearance. However, when he recently revealed his look for the film, Kumar was left thoroughly impressed.

“I was delighted and pleasantly surprised to see the first look wherein Hrithik sports a rugged, bearded look. I had been told that at present the shooting was being done of my college days. I took out an old photograph of mine, of the time when I was studying at Patna University. I found the resemblance to be uncanny”, Kumar told PTI.

“I showed my photograph to my family members and asked them to compare it with Hrithik’s and their observation was similar to mine. I posted both photographs on my Facebook page and it became an instant hit, getting thousands of likes, shares and comments. Similar was the response on Twitter,” the 45-year-old mathematician said.

Hrithik has begun shooting for the film in Varanasi. As some photos from the shoot found their way to the internet, fans noticed that television actor Mrunal Thakur, famous for playing Bulbul in the long-running TV show Kumkum Bhagya, is also a part of the film. Mrunal was also seen in international film, Love Sonia.

A source told Mumbai Mirror, “The shoot started after 2 pm on Tuesday with a pooja sequence on the banks of Ganga. After that, Hrithik and Mrunal filmed at Ramnagar Fort. A part of the fort has been converted to look like a coaching institute for the shoot.”

Kumar’s acclaimed Super 30 venture, which coaches a batch of about 30 engineering aspirants from poor families free of cost every year, has sent 450 candidates to prestigious technical institutes across the country in the last 15 years and 396 of them to the coveted IITs. The mathematician has received widespread praise within the country as well abroad for the rare feat.
