Inside Sonam Kapoor’s wedding: Watch brothers Arjun, Harshvardhan welcome the bride

Sonam Kapoor was welcomed to her wedding venue by her brother Harshvardhan Kapoor and cousin Arjun Kapoor under a beautiful red veil.

Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja were married on Tuesday in a private ceremony in Mumbai and we cannot wait for their pictures as a newly wedded couple. However, their friends and wedding guests are giving us an insider’s view of what is happening at the wedding of the year.

The Bollywood actor and her businessman boyfriend exchanged holy vows in a traditional Sikh ceremony, Anand Karaj. Sonam was brought to the wedding venue by her brother Harshvardhan Kapoor and cousin Arjun Kapoor under a beautiful red veil that matched her red lehenga.

The wedding venue, Sonam’s aunt’s home in Bandra, was adorned with mogra flowers and lilies. The guests covered their heads with turbans or drapes like sibling-duo, Abhishek Bachchan and Shweta Nanda. They wore outfits designed by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla for the wedding.

The wedding festivities will end with a party in the evening at a five-star hotel in Mumbai. The wedding invite, instead of an ostentatious invitation card, was a beautifully designed e-card that said, “Your presence on our special day is the only gift we desire.” The dress code for Tuesday is Indian traditional and mentions no colour, unlike Monday’s mehendi ceremony. In the evening, expect guests to arrive in either Indian or Western Formal.

After her wedding, Sonam will be seen in Veere Di Wedding with Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania. She will also be seen at the Cannes Film Festival later this week to represent L’Oreal.
