“Since Irrfan had to shoot again the next morning, he did not want to take the long, three-hour commute from his set to Dasada village, where the hotel was located,” says a source. The National Award-winning actor, who was accompanied by his two sons, Babil and Aryan, requested the makers to make arrangements for a tent under the open sky.

Says Nikhil, “My first thought was, ‘What a committed actor Irrfan is’. He wanted to save time so that he could wake up fresh and be prepared for the scene the next morning.”

Irrfan, on his part, says it was the thrill of camping out in the open that excited him, more than anything else. “It wasn’t my performance for the scene the next day that was on my mind at the time I made the suggestion. I was just captivated by the greed of sleeping underneath the skies and enjoying the twinkling stars along with my sons. But yes, saving time on the tiring commute was an added bonus,” says Irrfan, who plays a Pakistani national, supposedly an ISI agent, in the film.
