Every time the Kapoors have a party, our only complaint is ‘where is Taimur Ali Khan?’ Taking heed of this, Kareena Kapoor ensured she spent most of her day with her son on her birthday on Thursday. Only after that Kareena Kapoor celebrated her 36th birthday in a style we have come to associate with her – at a private bash with her best friends from the industry.
Invited last night were Karisma Kapoor with her rumoured beau Sandeep Toshniwal, sister-in-law Soha Ali Khan with husband Kunal Kemmu, besties Karan Johar, Amrita Arora and Malaika Arora. As Amrita took to Instagram to share some photos of last night’s revelries, we could not help but applaud Kareena’s monochrome look. Black-and-white appears to be the theme of the party but it is the birthday girl who takes her look the extra mile.
In a crisp white shirt with black trousers and a scarf around her neck, Kareena’s look harks back to Angelina Jolie’s tuxedo with an undone necktie on the Oscars red carpet in 2014.
The other standout fashion moment from the bash was Karan Johar’s. Dressed in an animal print jacket with silver shoes to ramp it up, he shared his look and wrote, “Birthday night! Jacket by @johnvarvatos shoes by @ysl styled by @nikitajaisinghani.” He also shared a photo with Kareena and her Ki and Ka co-star Arjun Kapoor with the caption: “Ki and Ka! And I am the And!!!!”
Earlier, talking about her birthday party plans, Kareena had said, “It is (birthday) special this time. But to be honest there are no special plans. I will celebrate my birthday with family and close friends like every year. There is no party as such. I will eat lots of food and just relax.”
She also said she had family time on her mind for the upcoming festive season: “We will be finishing our Delhi schedule (of her upcoming film Veere Di Wedding) a few days before Diwali, so I will be spending time with my family. Work is a priority but family is very important to me.”
