Khushi Kapoor has said that she would choose to make her Bollywood debut with Ahaan Panday, over Mizaan Jaffery and Aryan Khan. Khushi is the daughter of late screen icon Sridevi, and the sister of actor Janhvi Kapoor.
The sisters were guests on the recent season three premiere of Neha Dhupia’s chat show, BFFs with Vogue. Asked whom she’d pick out of Ahaan, nephew of actor Chunky Panday, Mizaan, son of Javed Jaffery, and Aryan, son of Shah Rukh Khan, Khushi said, “I have only seen Ahaan act out of the three of them, so I guess it would be like, the safest option.”
Janhvi, however, said that she’d want her sister to debut opposite Mizaan. Reports of Khushi gearing up for her film debut gained steam recently, when she said that her father, producer Boney Kapoor, reserves the right to pick her first co-star. She said that she will blindly trust producer Karan Johar about other aspects regarding her launch.
“People tell me when I’m going to debut, so it’s fun to hear about it. I mean, I’m still in school so obviously, it’s something that I have thought of but it’s not something that is happening right now,” she said.
Janhvi had made her Bollywood debut in 2018’s Dhadak, produced by Karan and co-starring Shahid Kapoor’s half-brother, Ishaan Khatter. The film was a critical and commercial success. Janhvi will also star in IAF pilof Gunjan Saxena’s biopic, and will appear in a supporting role in Karan’s upcoming period drama, Takht.
Ahaan’s cousin, Ananya Panday, will also be launched by Karan in the upcoming Student of the Year 2. The film stars Tiger Shroff in the lead and also features debutante Tara Sutaria. Ahaan has appeared in short films, and is popular on social media.
