Speaking about Alia, Madhuri said that so much about the Gully Boy actor reminded her of her younger days. She was quoted as saying: “It was wonderful to work with Alia. She has amazing energy; she reminds me so much of myself. She’s so professional, always on time, doing her job well and just wants to finish and go home. Alia comes with absolutely no baggage and that’s a wonderful trait. What a brilliant actress she is! I don’t think we have seen someone as terrific as her in a long time. The choices she’s making are so powerful and meaningful. Alia has definitely changed the whole ball game.”

Alia too was full of praise for Madhuri, especially her dancing skills and her supportive nature. She also added how she was relieved that she didn’t have to dance alongside Madhuri in her Kalank song Ghar More Pardesiya.

Alia said: “Madhuri ma’am is so sweet. Before I had begun the shoot, I was extremely nervous. Standing in the same frame, even thinking of matching up to her is impossible. But believe me, she made it so easy for all of us. She is lovely and we had a fantastic time shooting together. There’s Ghar More Pardesiya where I’m dancing around her and she’s thankfully not dancing. Otherwise, I would have just died.”

Kalank is an epic saga of love and is set in 1940s. Directed by Abhishek Varman, Karan (who has produced it) had said that it was a dream project of his father, late Yash Johar, and himself.

Post the release of its many character posters and two songs, Ghar More Pardesiya and First Class, the excitement among fans is palpable.
