Manoj Kumar discharged after 15-day stay in hospital

Actor Manoj Kumar was reportedly hospitalised for 15 days due to severe backache. The actor has now been discharged and is recuperating well.

Veteran actor Manoj Kumar -- known for his films such as Kranti and Purab Aur Paschim -- was discharged from Mumbai’s Kokilaben Hospital after a 15-day long stay, sources close to his family said on Wednesday. The actor was reportedly suffering from severe backache.

Actor Manoj Kumar was hospitalised in November. He has been discharged and is doing fine now.

While his family refused to divulge any details, sources said that the actor was now at home and was doing fine. The 78-year-old actor was admitted to Kokilaben hospital in November.

“He was admitted to hospital last month. But now he is fine and at home,” sources said. His family has requested for privacy.

Kumar is known for his roles in films such as Purab Aur Paschim, Roti Kapda Aur Makaan, Kranti, Shaheed etc. Due to the patriotic nature of his films, he was also known as Bharat Kumar. In 1992, he was honoured with a Padmashri.
