Nushrat Bharucha feels that she’s isn’t part of the ‘big league’ yet. Here’s why
Pyaar Ka Punchnama actor Nushrat Bharucha isn’t happy with the kind of work she’s been offered so far in her career.Updated: Jan 28, 2018 16:10 IST
Actor Nushrat Bharucha has been an actor in Bollywood for more than a decade now with films such as Pyaar Ka Punchnama (2011) and Love, Sex Aur Dhokha (2010) to her credit. The number of films that she has done in all these years has been decidedly less when compared to her contemporaries. However, the actor differs. “Everybody wants to do more work. Kam kaam karna kisko pasand hai? I don’t have the similar amount of success like my contemporaries have. And I don’t consider myself in that league yet [either] because I feel that I have to do a movie that will do big business.”
“I am an actor and performer. I have some star status. But I don’t have that sustained success rate,” adds Nushrat, who will next be seen in the upcoming film Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, where she’ll be seen playing a headstrong girl, Sweety, who is rivals with her to-be husband’s best friend, played by Kartik Aaryan.
The release of the movie has been pushed from February 9 to February 23 to avoid a clash with Pad Man and Aiyaary.
Her limited filmography, she says, also has to do with the fact that she’s not happy with the kind of work she has been offered so far. “So being able to get and do a character like Sweety has been a blessing because I am doing something completely different and not being the typical lovey-dovey, sing-song heroine. [In the film] I am fighting a war, either you are out, or I will run you over,” laughs Nushrat.
