Parineeti Chopra, Diljit Dosanjh to star in Chameli Ki Shaadi remake?

Reportedly, Phantom Films have bought the remake rights of the Chameli Ki Shaadi.

If recent buzz is to be believed, actors Parineeti Chopra and Diljit Dosanjh might be seen in the remake of the 1986 hit movie Chameli Ki Shaadi.

Rohit Jugraj is likely to direct the film.

According to a report in SpotBoye, Sardaar Ji 2 director Rohit Jugraj would direct the remake and it is said that the makers are keen to have Parineeti for the title role of Chameli, played by Amrita Singh and Diljit to play the male lead, played by Anil Kapoor.

Reportedly, Phantom Films have bought the remake rights of the Chameli Ki Shaadi.

It is said that Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan initially wanted to buy the rights of the remake movie, but Deepak Mukut, who is co-producing the remake had already struck a deal with Phantom’s money-handler Mantena, who had earlier produced Ghajini.

The first installment of the movie, which was directed by Basu Chatterjee, featured late actor Amjad Khan, Pankaj Kapoor and Om Prakash in pivotal roles.
