Prabhudheva readies for his first dahi handi celebrations
And that’s after he choreographed the item song Go go Govinda, which is inspired by the popular Janmashtmi event.
Almost everyone has already seen the Prabhudheva-choreographed dahi-handi song, Go Go Govinda.. from the movie Oh My God (OMG). And though Prabhu and Sonakshi Sinha are seen dancing like pros to the Janmashtmi themed song, it’s interesting to note that the choreographer-director has never seen dahi-handi celebrations.

When Akshay Kumar and the makers of OMG requested Prabhu to choreograph the item song, he began to work on it with the help of his friends, who gave him inputs about the festival. When contacted, Prabhu says, “Yes, it’s true that when I was shooting for the song, I had never seen a dahi-handi event in my life. But I have heard a lot about it from my friends.”
For someone who has never been a part of the actual celebrations, Prabhu seems to have done a neat job. “Prabhu sir has always lived in Chennai, and has never experienced the festival. But that was never a hindrance while he was choreographing the song,” agrees an insider close to him.
On the work front, Prabhu, after delivering back-to-back hits like Wanted (2008) and Rowdy Rathore, is set to direct Kumar Taurani’s son Girish, and Shruti Haasan in a romantic caper next. He will then work on a Shahid Kapoor starrer, which has been tentatively titled Namak. The film will only start around next year.
