Sonam Kapoor, Anand Ahuja kicked off the year’s celebrity weddings in May, days later, Neha Dhupia, Angad Bedi announced their wedding on Instagram. Priyanka Chopra-Nick Jonas and Deepika Padukone-Ranveer Singh could also wed in 2018.

Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli shocked us all when they revealed on social media that they secretly got married in a beautiful destination wedding at Florence, Italy in 2017. But given how many famous couples tied the knot, got engaged and are set to marry this year, 2018 definitely seems to be the year of surprise celebrity weddings.

Bollywood actors Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi announced their marriage with pictures on their social media accounts on May 10. Neha captioned her photo, “Best decision of my life.. today, I married my best friend. Hello there, husband!” Angad also posted a picture and wrote, “Best friend.. now wife!! Well Hello there mrs BEDI!!!”

Actor Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and her businessman boyfriend Anand Ahuja exchanged holy vows in a traditional Sikh ceremony, Anand Karaj, on May 8. Social media feeds all over India blew up with pictures and videos of #SonamKiShaadi from the three-day star-studded festivities.

Shloka Mehta and Akash Ambani’s engagement ceremony was on June 30. But Industrialist Mukesh Ambani and wife kickstarted the festivities by hosting a grand pre-engagement sangeet and mehendi for their son Akash and his fiancee at their residence in Mumbai. Shloka and Akash had exchanged rings in Goa in March in a private ceremony and are set to marry in December.

2018 is going to see not just one, but two Ambanis tying the knot. Nita and Mukesh Ambani’s daughter Isha Ambani made things official with her fiance, businessman Anand Piramal in May. Twin sister to Akash, Isha was proposed to at a temple in Mahabaleshwar and after saying yes to her beau, the couple celebrated their big moment with their parents and family members. Their wedding is rumoured to take place in December.

Actor Priyanka Chopra took to Instagram to announce she’s engaged to singer Nick Jonas on Saturday with a snap of them in a loving embrace and captioned it, “Taken.. With all my heart and soul”. Nick shared the same photo, writing, “Future Mrs. Jonas. My heart. My love.” While Priyanka’s mother Madhu Chopra revealed that a wedding date has not been decided yet, we’re hoping it is soon.

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh reportedly want a hush-hush wedding. The Bollywood actors are attracting intense media speculation over their imminent November 20 wedding at the scenic Lake Como in Italy. While Deepika and Ranveer have never announced their relationship publicly, they have been rumoured to be dating since 2013. They’ve starred in three films together - Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani and the recent Padmaavat.
