A Mid Day report quoted a source as saying, “Ranbir plays a DJ who walks out of his house against his father’s wishes. The story then traces his journey as he tries to fulfil his dreams and discovers his superpowers in the process. It is known that every character in the film possesses superpowers, with Kapoor’s character believed to have the power to unleash fire from his palms.” The tabloid also revealed that Ranbir has undergone training in martial arts such as Kalaripayattu and Varma Kalai, as Brahmastra has some “high octane action sequences”. The ability to control fire is synonymous with the Fantastic Four character Johnny Storm, aka the Human Torch. The character has been played on screen by Chris Evans and Michael B Jordan.

From what has been revealed so far, Ranbir plays a character named Shiva and Alia plays Isha in the film, which has been shot in London, New York, Bulgaria, Israel and India, among other places.
