“Hum kalakaar hain, aagar kuch achha aayega to hum karenge (we are artists and if something good comes up, I will do it). Good script is important; whenever I get a good offer, I will do it. If something interesting comes my way then I am also ready to work with Karisma [Kapoor] and Kareena [Kapoor Khan],” says Kapoor.

Kapoor is all praise for the kind of films Hindi film industry is churning these days. Drawing a comparison with the films of his times, he adds, “The kind of cinema you see today is great. They [filmmakers] are also thinking out of the box. If you see films of my times, style and approach were different. Acting was a little loud and even presentation wise there were difference. Woh zamana aur tha, woh time alag tha, woh filmein aur thi, unka bhi mazaa alag tha aur aaj kal ke filmon ka bhi alag mazaa hai (That era and time was different, films at that time had their own charm. And today’s films have their own different charm).”

Talking about what is keeping him busy, Kapoor states, “I am currently repairing my studio (R.K. Films and Studios) that got burnt recently [when a fire broke]. I have received major losses not just financially but emotionally too. We lost all the memorabilia of Raj Kapoor, trophies and along with these all the memories. It’s a big loss for us and it will take a lot of time for us to restore it. In India, these things take time and tonnes of money to do it.”
