The first song from John Abraham’s Romeo Akbar Walter is out now. Titled Bulleya, the song is a happy party number with Punjabi singer Rabbi Shergill taking to the stage. It shows John and co-star Mouni Roy attending a party where Rabbi performs the song. While John sports a vintage look in the music video, Mouni is seen in chiffon sari with a sleeveless blouse.

The song has been sung by Rabbi and Shahid Mallya, with lyrics by Ashok Punjabi and music by Sohail Sen.

Romeo Akbar Walter’s intriguing trailer was liked by the viewers and showed John in several vintage looks. The actor plays a spy in the film, which also stars Jackie Shroff and Sikander Kher in prominent roles. It is set against the backdrop of the India-Pakistan war of 1971 and is said to be inspired by true events.

The Romeo Akbar Walter trailer had also inspired several memes on social media as the viewers compared their daily struggles to the dialogues in the trailer. A man telling John in one of the scenes, “Bahar nikalne ke sabhi raste band ho chuke hain (All escape routes are closed),” became internet’s favourite.

RAW was supposed to star Sushant Singh Rajput but the actor walked out of the film and John stepped in. This is John’s fourth consecutive patriotic thriller after Force 2, Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran and Satyameva Jayate. This is Mouni’s second film after she made her Bollywood debut with Akshay Kumar’s Gold last year.

The film is scheduled to hit theatres on April 5.
