Soha Ali Khan is the latest to join the cast of Deepa Mehta's much-talked about venture, Midnight’s Children an adaptation of the Booker Prize winning novel by Salman Rushdie.
The film already boasts of actors like Shabana Azmi, Nandita Das, Seema Biswas and Irrfan Khan as its cast and Soha can’t stop feeling lucky to be a part of it. “I have never worked with someone as senior as Deepa Mehta, so it is an honour for me. I haven’t worked with many female directors except Sangeeta (director of her film Life Goes On). So this will be another experience all together,” says Soha.
Despite the excitement, Soha does not want to divulge much about the project which goes on floor later this year. "Oh, she (Deepa) would kill me if I talk about it. The film is in its initial stages and she has just allowed me to say that I am a part of the film, beyond that my lips are sealed," says Soha.
Midnight’s Children will be out next year but before that Soha’s horror film Accident with actor Shiney Ahuja is awaiting release. A Pritish Nandy Communications film, director Abhijit Chaudhary has completed the shooting and is now busy with post production.
“It has been a slow year for me since Tum Mile. I was expecting Accident to release but it has been delayed for some time. I hope the producers release it soon,” she asserts. And it seems doing a horror film has taken its toll on the 31-tear-old actress. Soha Ali Khan is itching to do something lighter.
As a result of which the audience will find the actress in two romantic comedies back to back. The first will be Chemistry with Shreyas Talpade who is also the producer of the film.
