Veere Di Wedding girls -- Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania -- have been aggressively promoting their film. Their fashion sense, particularly that of Kareena, has come up for praise. However, some on the internet found a major similarity between one of Swara’s many dresses with that of the frock worn by the Nirma girl, the popular image of the washing powder brand in the 1990s. A hilarious meme promptly surfaced online and has since gone viral.

Good sport that Swara is, she didn’t take offence at it when it came to her notice. Instead she joined in the fun and commented on it and even shared the picture on her Instagram page.

Sharing the picture, Swara wrote: “Very observant I must say guys. @ministry_of_bollywood Reminded me of my childhood ambition! I always wanted to be the “washing powder Nirma child!” @chandiniw @saracapela @hot.hair.balloon #Repost @movietalkies with @get_repost.”

Swara is wearing a thigh-high white dress by Dubai-based design label Atelier Zuhra.

Veere Di Wedding, which releases on June 1, is the emotional roller coaster journey of four urban Indian women. The film has created quite a buzz thanks to its catchy tunes such as Tareefan and the combined star power of Kareena and Sonam.

The film has been co-produced by Anil Kapoor Films, run by Rhea Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures.
