Yo Yo Honey Singh recently set a new record with the music video for his latest chartbuster, Dheere Dheere, getting more than 200 million views on YouTube alone. Now, we have learnt that the rapper has been approached by several film-makers to make a film on his life.

A source says, “After real-life stories of popular personalities like MS Dhoni and Sanjay Dutt, it seems the story of Honey’s life has captivated film-makers. Honey has become one of world’s top artistes, and has fans across the globe. He saw success with the song Gabru off his 2011 album, International Villager, but shot to fame after his song Angrezi Beat was featured in the Bollywood movie, Cocktail (2012). He later delivered huge hits such as Lungi Dance, Blue Eyes, Desi Kalaakar and High Heels. However, the rapper more or less disappeared from the music industry around 2014. He later revealed that he’d taken the break because he was undergoing treatment for bipolar disorder.

“The film will showcase his story, his struggle, his entry into the music industry, the ups and downs in his life, including the fact that he had been suffering from bipolar disorder,” adds the source. Honey Singh was not available for comment.
