There’s something genuine about Alia: Kareena

While Alia Bhatt has gone on record to call ­herself a fan of Kareena Kapoor Khan, the ­latter, too, feels that the young actor has the potential to make it big in Bollywood.

While Alia Bhatt has gone on record to call ­herself a fan of Kareena Kapoor Khan, the ­latter, too, feels that the young actor has the potential to make it big in Bollywood. “I think Alia is very talented ... she is a lovely girl too. I have only seen her work in Student Of The Year (2012), but I still like her. Her vibe is nice, she’s relaxed. There’s ­something ­genuine about Alia,” says Kareena.

Kareena, who is waiting for the release of her next film Bajrangi Bhaijaan, says that after being in the industry for 15 years, she does not feel the need to be in the rat race. “I’m in a secure and happy place. I can do a song with Sidharth Malhotra, I played Anil Kapoor’s wife a decade ago (in Bewafaa; 2005) and now I’m playing his nephew’s (Arjun Kapoor) wife (in a film being directed by R Balki). It’s amazing,” says the 34-year-old.

Speaking about her ­childhood, Kareena says that acting was her first love. Ask her what she would have liked to pursue, if not acting, and she says, “Since I love travel so much, I would’ve been an air hostess. Considering I’m always ready to get on an ­aircraft and leave, that would be ideal. I would get to see new and exciting places,” she says.

Ask the actor why she is off social media and she’s quick to say that she never wished to be on it in the first place. “I was never on it to be off it. But I have fans on social media who keep me alive. So, I don’t feel the need to be on it. And between my work and Saif (Ali Khan; ­husband) and my travelling, I have my hands full,” she says.
