Vidya Balan gets real deal on the reel

Actor surprised to find similarities between her life and her next film

When Vidya Balan signed Shaadi Ke Side Effects (SKSE), little did she know that she'd find similarities between her life and the film.

A source says, "During the narration, she was told that Farhan Akthar, who plays her husband in the film, was called Sid Roy. Vidya was surprised and couldn't stop laughing about it as her husband's name is Siddharth Roy Kapur. Since the script was finalised five years ago and the character names were locked then, it turned out to be a huge coincidence. Vidya found the whole thing hilarious."

That's not all. Last year, Vidya and Siddharth had tied the knot at a bungalow in Bandra called Green Gift, where Vidya had also shot many commercials with her mentor film-maker Pradeep Sarkar. "But what surprised her the most was that the first shot of SKSE was filmed in the same bungalow. Also, it was her first shot after her wedding," says the source. A romantic comedy directed by Saket Chaudhary, SKSE is a sequel to Pyaar Ke Side Effects (2006).
