Why Ali Fazal's parents haven't watched Bobby Jasoos

Since Fazal’s religious parents are observing Ramzan, they haven’t watched his latest film in the theatre

has been part of multi-starrers such as 3 Idiots (2009) and Fukrey (2013), but the actor got his first solo lead opposite Vidya Balan in Bobby Jasoos.

And while his friends are excited about

, his parents haven’t been able to watch it yet. The reason: Ali’s mother and father are pious Muslims and are abstaining from watching movies during Ramzan.

Since the holy period is on till the end of this month, possibly, Ali’s parents won’t be able to catch his latest release in theatres at all. And not only his folks, but some of his close friends from his hometown Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, might also not be able to watch him on the big screen, since they are abstaining as well.

When asked about this, Ali says, “I am a tad disappointed as my parents and close friends in Lucknow, who were excited about the movie, won’t be able to see it. Since Ramzan is going on, they haven’t got an opportunity to watch it."

However, he is optimistic that his family and friends will watch his solo turn on TV. "I guess they will only be able to watch the film when it comes out on television or on DVD," he says.
